GoR amuse-bouche #6

Simon and Bryaxis. 😀

The cramped storage room was stuffed floor to ceiling, narrow aisles snaking their way between towers of teetering boxes. As Simon scurried through the maze of crates, stopping here and there to light the wicks of the ceramic lamps, Bryaxis unloaded a small container of scrolls and stacked them carefully on the reading table. They pulled up chairs, and Simon blew out a deep breath, wishing like mad that he’d taken those dull Greek lessons more serious. At least his insecurities were distracting him from the towering Adonis sitting next to him, or they were until the man’s bony knee casually rubbed against Simon’s thigh.

“All right. Let’s start with this one. What do we have here?” Bryaxis inspected the broken wax seal before unfurling the papyrus. After scanning the document, he chuckled with a sneer. “How bloody ironic. It’s a letter to Dom from fucking Fabius.”

“Really? What does it say?”

Bryaxis rolled up the scroll and handed it to Simon. “More of the same lies and horseshit. Fabius has never given a damn about anyone other than himself, including Lucius.”

His brows scrunched together, Simon read the frayed, brittle correspondence, before tossing the love letter onto the table as if it were on fire. “Shit, I can’t read Dom’s letter; it’s—“ Simon lowered his voice to a whisper. “It’s intimate and, um, private.”

Happy Sunday!

Aw such noble ways our dear Simon has! I also particularly like how Bryaxis continues to refer to Lucius as Dom 😀 the storm and spit fire between gaius and Bryaxis should be fun!

Simon and Bry banter is a fricking hoot! Yup, Gaius and Bryaxs will have a chat soon. Gaius is a bit distracted at the moment. 😉
