Ahhh… love it! Though not liking Gaius going blind!

I’m so happy you enjoyed this fun chapter, Lynne. Tender, silly Gaius is a fave of mine.

Oh, Gaius. He’s reaching the later half of his thirties and grumbling about his aging eyesight (I think – sometimes I’m not sure where things might go). Glasses were not invented yet (even for the wealthy), so folks who started needing ‘reading glasses’ relied on younger people/slaves to read for them. I always wonder about all the near-sighted Romans. Were there just a lot fewer people born with bad eyesight?

Just caught up with this series and thought I’d say how much I love how this is all unfolding so far. These draft chapters are so wonderful, thank you! I have to admit it was a little harsh imo for Gaius to leave poor Allerix down there for two months, not two weeks, but MONTHS. But considering how scared Gaius must be of his overwhelming feelings, it makes sense he’d do whatever he could to try and get ahold of himself. The mean love struck bastard lol. I love how absolutely enamored he is with Alle in this chapter, he’s so transparent isn’t he? No matter how hard he may act, he just can’t seem to help but melt around Allerix. I’m looking forward to the moment he lets Allerix call him by his name, that will certainly be something to read, but I’m getting way ahead of myself! And he really won’t let that matter with Brasus go will he? A dog with a bone he is smh. He’s either being genuine when he says he wants to give Alle a proper goodbye with his former lover or he’s just a jealous bastard lol but he’s complicated so perhaps it’s a mixture of reasons. Looking forward to where you take this 🙂

So thrilled to hear from you, GG!!!!

I’m delighted you’re enjoying these draft chapters. Gaius can be a very confused and conflicted bastard, yes? Poor Allerix. But Alle’s a tough lad, which is one of the many reasons Gaius is so damn smitten.

Ah, yes — Brasus. We’ll deal with him in the next chapter. This will probably be the darkest of the books, but with amazing moments of love too. I’m so glad you caught up with the story, and thank you tons for your wonderful review of Games over at Smashwords. We have a Facebook group with exclusive content/art work if you’re interested. 😀

      JPK ❤️❤️❤️

Nice chapter, I still think Fabian is a massive asshole but I think when the dominus recognized that Allerix was feeling humiliated and sad and actually did something about it, was the closest I got to liking him lol what you know he felt empathy for his slave! Too bad he doesn’t care about his feelings for lots of the time, he certainly didn’t feel empathy when Alle was losing his mind for the last two months and now there is his new game of taking Alle to see his former lover. I also like that Allerix didn’t forget his plan of killing the emperor even if he seems to be so very gone for his master, I like bits that remind me that he didn’t give up and just accepted being Fabian’ slave for life.

Yay! You enjoyed the chappie AND you got closer to liking Gaius. 😀 Allerix has not forgotten his plan – not by a long shot.
